The socialite daughter of former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has been left "shaken" after a reported £50 million (approx. $97 million) was stolen from her London mansion.

Tamara Ecclestone's home was raided on December 13 after she departed for her overseas Christmas holiday. According to The Guardian, thieves are believed to have entered through the garden of the property, which is located near Kensington Palace, one of the most prestigious areas in London.

The robbers then proceeded to break into a safe hidden inside Tamara's bedroom, where they pocketed a stash of jewellery including rings, earrings and a £80,000 (approx. $155,000) Cartier bangle.

It's an astonishing loot for the thieves, given the neighbourhood is patrolled 24/7 and has a variety of checkpoints. It was reported that the thieving spree ended after 50 minutes when a security guard spotted the robbers, who then escaped through an open window.

"I can sadly confirm there has been a home invasion. Internal security are cooperating with police in this matter," a spokesman for Ecclestone confirmed to the publication. "Tamara and family are well but obviously angry and shaken by the incident."

The 35-year-old billionaire heiress, her businessman husband Jay Rutland, and their five-year-old Sophia Ecclestone Rutland were not at home at the time.

Tamara's father, Bernie, is worth an estimated £$2.5 billion (approx. $4.8 billion), with the socialite herself worth a whopping £232 million (approx $452 million), thanks to her many properties, business endeavours, modelling and television work, and her reality TV shows.
