Brandi Glanville promises to pay money back after fans donate thousands amid public health battle

Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville says she is determined to pay back every cent after fans, and other Housewives, donated thousands to help her with her medical bills.

Glanville, 53, previously broke down during her Brandi Glanville Unfiltered podcast as she discussed the fundraising page set up by her friend Gina Rodriguez to help her with the cost of several bacterial infections and facial mites.

At the time of writing, donations have raised more than $31,000 to help with her treatment, which costs $US7000 ($9800) a week even with medical insurance.

In her latest podcast episode, Glanville said she was still very uncomfortable with needing financial support.

“I’m still not super excited about having a GoFundMe. My goal is, I’ve had a hard time with all these medical bills, is to pay everyone back,” she said.

“I know I’ll work again. I just have to get better first, and then I can do anything.”

While many of Glanville’s donors are anonymous, those who have publicly given funds include Beverly Hills stars Kyle Richards, who donated $500, Eileen Davidson, who donated $300, and Camille Grammer, who donated $200.

Glanville is battling several diagnoses following years of unexplained issues affecting her face.

“I’ve been diagnosed with highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever), Demodex dermatitis and Mononucleosis,” she shared in an Instagram post.

Biofilm production in ESBL-producing Klebsiella and Enterobacter can create antibiotic resistance, making bacterial infections harder to treat, the US National Institutes of Health states.

Coccidioidomycosis, also known as Valley Fever, is a fungal lung infection. It comes from inhaling spores of fungus that grow in soil and dirt in parts of the south-western US, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Meanwhile, Demodex dermatitis is a facial mite that lives in the oil glands of hair follicles. It can cause itchy skin, textured skin, inflammation and redness.

Mononucleosis, also known as glandular fever, is a viral infection that is usually caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), according to Healthdirect.

On top of everything, Glanville said she also had a fungal ball in her face that needed to be removed.
