BREAKING! Bindi Irwin wins Dancing With The Stars: 'Thank you for changing my life'

It's the moment we've all been waiting for: Australia's own Bindi Irwin has been crowned the winner of Dancing With The Stars US season 21.

After nearly three months of blood, sweat and tears, the 17-year-old took home the mirror ball trophy and cemented her place as America's new sweetheart. Watch her emotional victory with dance partner Derek Hough above!

Following weeks of perfect scores, Bindi beat runner-up Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys, and second runner-up, army hero Alek Skarlatos. Not bad for a khaki-clad teen who'd never worn heels before at the start of the season.

The series was full of big moments for Bindi, from a tango to AC/DC to that Dirty Dancing lift to an emotional tribute to her late father Steve Irwin.

Her final dance, a cha-cha/Argentine tango fusion, earned another 30 out of 30. It was a leg-flashing, firework-filled extravaganza:
