Big Little Lies trailer: Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon bring an Aussie bestseller to life

The first trailer for HBO's miniseries adaptation of Liane Moriarty's novel Big Little Lies just dropped, and it looks INTENSE.

Nicole Kidman (Celeste), Reese Witherspoon (Madeline), and Shailene Woodley (Jane) costar as three women whose lives intersect as secrets, lies, and murder rock their quiet suburban community.  

While the Australian author's 2014 thriller was set on Sydney's leafy North Shore, the lack of Aussie accents and preservation of beachside vibes seem to indicate the miniseries has been reset in California.

The seven-episode TV adaptation also features sizzling A-listers like Alexander Skarsgard (Perry), Laura Dern (Renata), Adam Scott (Ed), and Zoe Kravitz (Bonnie).

We'll have to wait and see if the screen version does the bestselling book justice when it drops sometime next year.
