Kaley Cuoco recalls feeling 'sensitive' when filming sex scenes with Big Bang Theory co-star Johnny Galecki after their split

Kaley Cuoco has revealed what it was like to film sex scenes with her ex-boyfriend and co-star Johnny Galecki on The Big Bang Theory.

The pair became an item around the time the sitcom began in 2007, but split two years later. Cuoco, 34, says their breakup went as smoothly as she had hoped, and today she and Galecki, 45, are the best of friends. 

"We dated really early on for almost two years. When we did the pilot, I was crushing so hard on Galecki but he had a girlfriend," she said during an appearance on Dax Shepard's podcast, Armchair Expert.

"We got together and just fell mad for each other for two years, but then we broke up. Luckily Johnny and I came out of it so brilliantly and we're closer today than we ever were."

But for a while after their split, things were understandably still a little "sensitive" between them, she recalled. And it didn't help that the show's creator Chuck Lorre was adding in more sex scenes between their characters Penny and Leonard, who dated on the show.

"When we broke up obviously it was a little sensitive for a minute, but I remember those weeks that Chuck had written these episodes where all of a sudden our characters were like sleeping together every other second," she laughed.

"Johnny and I talk about it and I think [Chuck] did that on purpose — just to f--k with us. It just which makes me love him even more. If I was with him, I would ask him because that came out of nowhere. All of a sudden these characters were all up on each other."

And while their characters eventually got married on the show before it wrapped for good in 2019, Cuoco and Galecki got their happily ever after with other partners. 

The actress recently celebrated her second wedding anniversary with equestrian Karl Cook, 29 — Galecki was guest at their wedding. And last year the actor welcomed a baby boy, Avery, with his girlfriend of two years, Alaina Meyer.
