Betty White reveals how she's kept herself busy during quarantine

Betty White is ready for some face-to-face interaction again.

The 99-year-old has been keeping safe at home over the past year, occupying her time by "reading, watching TV, and doing crossword puzzles at home over the pandemic," says her agent Jeff Witjas.

However, according to Witjas, White's "ability to regularly interact with friends face to face," during the pandemic has "severely affected in her life," adding that like many, she's "looking forward to summer when she can safely enjoy the outdoors and regain her freedom."

Although she's been isolated for a year, the actress still "pens plenty of letters, makes phone calls, and has limited visits with friends and loved ones through the window of her home," Witjas told TMZ.

Although she's an animal lover, White hasn't had any furry friends to keep her company during the pandemic but previously said there are a few ducks on her property that "walk up to her door every day to say hello" that she's formed a friendship with.

The actress, who turned 99 in January, has been so charmed by the birds that she even spent her birthday feeding them, before revealing her wild plans for the evening to The Associated Press.

"Since I am turning 99, I can stay up as late as I want without asking permission," she said.

Witjas said he's unsure yet if White, whose career spans over 60 years, will return to work, with her focus largely being on making sure she can safely leave the house and interact with family and friends again.

Witjas declined to comment whether or not White had been vaccinated against COVID-19, saying it was a personal matter.

The actor's TV credits stretch from 1949's Hollywood on Television, with other famous titles including The Golden Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Earlier in the year the 1970s series, Betty White's Pet Set was released onto DVD, in which she visited with celebrity guests and their pets as well as wild animals.

"The Pet Set is one of my favourite shows," White said while promoting the re-release of the classic series. "I'm thrilled it's going to be seen again after all these years.
