Bernie McGee, who appeared on the reality series Seeking Sister Wife, dies at 41

Bernie McGee, who appeared on the reality TV series Seeking Sister Wife, died from a heat stroke and heart attack. He was 41.

TLC, the US network that airs the show, confirmed his passing in a tribute shared on its website.

"Our hearts go out to the McGee family following the loss of husband and father, Bernie McGee. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time," the message read.

According to his wife Paige, Bernie was out riding his bike when he fell ill from a heat stroke and heart attack. He later died at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, on Saturday, June 15.

"Bernie loved the outdoors especially camping, hiking and riding his bike," his obituary said. "He never met a stranger and loved his family and friends very much. Bernie was full of life."

McGee shared four children with Paige. Sadly, the family recently lost everything in a house fire, according to a GoFundMe page set up for the family on June 16. The petition is asking for donations to help cover McGee's funeral costs and other expenses.

He and Paige practised polygamy and appeared on Seeking Sister Wife, which began filming last year, to search for a second woman to join their family.
