It's confirmed! Your next Bachelor is… Matty Johnson

Australian women rejoice, Matthew Johnson is getting a second chance at love.

Yup! Adorable, brown eyed, dream-boat Matty J, has been confirmed as the next Bachelor.

You may remember the 29-year-old as the guy whose heart was smashed into 1000 little pieces in front of an entire nation when he lost out to Lee Elliot for Georgia Love's heart. #nikkigrogan2.0

In a statement by Network Ten, Matty J said: "I feel so privileged that I’ve been given the opportunity to be The Bachelor. Without question, the most exciting part is the chance to meet the girl I’m going to spend the rest of my life with." #chooseme #dreamy

While many have hoped, dreamed and wished for this – there was much speculation surrounding whether the marketing professional/model/all-round good guy would be the top pick.

However, in the last week, Matty was spotted being escorted to what is believed to be a Bachelor 'safe house' before being driven to the bachelor mansion.

With filming due to start this week, the former Bachelorette star was photographed with show producers holding his luggage, while being transferred to an unknown location in Sydney's Inner West.

If you want to capture Matty's heart, his list is short and sweet.  She must be "kind, intelligent and easy-going" with a passion for the outdoors and the ocean.

Don't forget she "must be family oriented" because we all remember Matty J and nephew George. LE SIGH.

"I'm so excited about the prospect of settling down," he said, "Timing is such a crucial factor when it comes to making this commitment and I know wholeheartedly, that there’s nothing I want more.”
