Australian fitness influencer Ashy Bines has returned home after receiving a "scary" diagnosis.

The 35-year-old mother-of-two, who is from Queensland, revealed this week to her 999,000 Instagram followers that she had been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, something she had "already lost a young uncle and a nan to".

She's since shared an update with her followers after undergoing an MRI.

"I'm home. MRI was all clear – so thankful!!! They said it's unlikely my aneurysm will rupture or bleed at its current size but I'll be back in three months to keep an eye on it," Bines wrote on her Instagram Story overnight.

Bines said considering her family history with the condition, she'll have to get it checked "regularly for the rest of [her] life".

She wrote: "What a gift [it] was losing my sight because otherwise I wouldn't have ever got a scan and this wouldn't have been found!"

Bines initially said earlier this week that she lost her sight three times in the last week, so on Sunday, she decided to go to a doctor as "we were starting to get worried".

"He sent me straight to the hospital and they then ran a bunch of [different] scans on my eyes and that was all cleared, then got a CT scan to which they found a small aneurysm," Bines said.

"Pretty scary as Steve [Evans, her husband] has had a huge one removed and I also have this run in my family, already lost a young uncle and a nan to an aneurysm."

Bines said she had been admitted to a hospital and was awaiting an MRI scan at the time, which would help her decide on how to treat it.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a brain aneurysm is a "bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain". They are common, and most aren't serious as they don't rupture.

If they do rupture, however, that's when it can become life-threatening. Treatment with medical professionals may prevent ruptures in future after they're detected.

"They have said stress has caused my loss of sight and migraines and to slow right down," Bines claimed in her update overnight.

She continued: "Slow down in my work life and even my training to take it easy. My focus will be more slow, allowing my team to step in more to assist and we are in the process of changing how we run our business to support me more and take some of the pressure off."

Bines said that her diagnosis is a sign from her body that "it's gotten too much" although she reiterated she loves everything she does.

"Steve has been incredible and so supportive to be able to take full control and get me back to a place of really enjoying my day to day roles by lifting my load," she wrote.

"Thank you for all the beautiful [messages] of love an support. So grateful for my community".
