Aoki Lee Simmons to quit modelling after being constantly compared to her famous mother and being told she's 'not pretty enough'

Aoki Lee Simmons has revealed the harsh reality of the modelling world - and how difficult it is for her with her mum being a model.

Speaking in an Instagram video, per Page Six, Aoki said she's ready to quit the industry as she's constantly compared to her famous mother Kimora Lee Simmons.

She said she's also brutally been told she's "not pretty enough" as she tries to find her feet in the game.

"It feels like one big fat comparison all the time," she said about her mother, who had her own reality show and even her own brand.

"Like, OK [I'm] not as good. I get that. My mom is always going to be a way better model than me.

"I love modeling, but it's hard to go somewhere and get told over, over, and over [again], 'No, no, no, you're not pretty enough,' that's not a fun time… it's a hard industry."

Aoki is the daughter of Kimora and music magnate Russell Simmons.

They also share daughter Ming Lee Simmons, 24.

The Harvard graduate reportedly made her runway debut in 2021.

Aoki previously said she wanted to pursue modelling to challenge the perceptions that you can't be both beautiful and smart.

"I would like to change the idea that you can't be smart and pretty, or you can't be smart and enjoy your looks... You can be two kinds of people in one person," she said in an old TikTok video.

Kimora previously gushed about her children with fans online and sweetly called them her "greatest accomplishments in life!"
