Andy Lee encounters venomous snake while playing golf in Tasmania

Andy Lee has had a surprising encounter with a highly venomous snake.

The True Story with Hamish and Andy star documented his close contact with a "huge" tiger snake while playing a round of golf with friends in Tasmania.

"People say bunker shots are daunting... have they tried playing them in Australia," he captioned his post via Instagram on Wednesday.

The video, captured on a mobile phone, shows the snake lurking in a bunker at the Barnbougle Lost Farms Golf Course.

"Horgs, you've got a bit of a tough bunker shot coming up," Andy told his friend Michael Horgan as they approached his next shot in the sand. "Obviously the light's not great, but this tiger snake over here is all the worry."

"It's huge!" he added.

Getting a closer look, the snake turned to Lee, to which he jumped back. "Don't come at me, mate. Don't come at me!" he exclaimed.

Shortly after posting the video, Lee commented: "It bit him [Horgan] while he played his shot but he got up and down for par so it was worth it."
