Andy Lee responds to national call for brass players on Anzac Day

Australian comedian Andy Lee exercised his brass playing skills earlier this morning for Anzac Day.

Responding to a national call for brass players to whip out their instruments at 6am and play The Last Post in remembrance of our ANZACs, the 38-year-old's performance was rather impressive (watch it above).

Uploading a video of it Instagram alongside a stunning photo of him playing the tribute song against a dramatic sunrise, Lee shared a heartfelt tribute to all of Australia's service men and women.

"We will remember them," he began.

"There was a call for all brass players to sound The Last Post at 6am this morning."

Mentioning his girlfriend Rebecca Harding, he added, "Bec and I are so grateful to all service men and women, past and present.#StandAtDawn #AnzacDay."

Lee wasn't the only media personality to respond to the call for Australians to pick up their brass.

Sports presenter on TODAY Alex Cullen also gave his pipes a workout this morning, calling playing The Last Post on his bugle "an honour."

"We will remember them and an honour to play this this morning. Pleased to say I wasn't the only one to dust off the bugle. Lest we forget," he tweeted alongside a video of his performance.
