Australian singer Amy Shark reveals her exes reached out after hearing her songs
While many musicians draw from their personal life for their art, Amy Shark has found that this can have unwanted repercussions.
The Aussie singer-songwriter revealed she has received a number of messages from exes after they heard some of her earlier songs, which seemed to go into so much detail that they felt they could be easily identified.

"I learned my lesson on the first album through Love Monster, because I didn't know what I was doing, and I just wrote a bunch songs that... every song is personal, but I'd never done it before, and I just unloaded everything," she told Nova 100's Jase & Lauren.
Despite her innocent intentions, Shark was faced with a flood of messages "from people being like 'What are you doing? Just because you're over, it doesn't mean I'm over it".
"So I was like 'Oh shit'. I really respect people more, so I apologised to so many people. I was like 'I'm so sorry my whole life just changed and I don't know what I'm doing'.
"Now I really think about what I say a lot more."
Though this experience could have greatly altered the way she channeled her experiences into art, Shark didn't let it affect her creative process.
Instead now she "just (makes) a compromise.

"I won't out them. I won't talk about it in complete detail, like what the incident was."
She also shares that it can become awkward bringing up these experiences in her music while she works with her husband Shane Billings.
Though she shares that "the best thing about Shane" is that "he doesn't care."
