Alfred Jackson, Prince's half-brother and heir, dies at 66

Alfred Jackson, Prince's half-brother and one of six siblings who inherited his estate, has died at age 66.

Jackson passed away Thursday morning at his home in Kansas City, Missouri, according to TMZ. He was reportedly found by his brother Bruce Jackson, who is not related to the late pop icon. Law enforcement told the website that no foul play is suspected, and that Alfred died of natural causes. 

Alfred, who has the same mother as Prince (born: Prince Rogers Nelson), was the first of the 'Purple Rain' singer's six siblings to speak out following his death from an accidental drug overdose on April 21, 2016. He was 57.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight published days after Prince's passing, Alfred called his half-brother a "musical genius" as he reminisced about playing music together.

"In [our] mother's house, in the basement, there was a piano. And she said, 'Alfred, go down there and play your piano. I'd go down there and hit a note and Prince would come down there and do it faster than me and do it better," he said with a laugh. 

"He was a genius."
