50 Cent makes convincing argument about beating Power alter ego in a street fight: Watch!

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson won't back down from anyone, not even his murderous alter ego on his crime drama Power.

On the hit TV series, which returns for its fourth season on June 26, the rapper-turned-actor plays Kanan, a demented drug lord intent on reclaiming his throne. And, of course, wreaking havoc on his protégé-turned-enemy, James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick).

In real life, 50 is known for his over-the-top hip hop beefs with fellow American rappers including Kanye West, Ja Rule, and Game. The Queens, New York-raised 50 has positioned himself as someone who can hold his own; this is the man who was shot nine times by an assailant and lived to tell about it. (The inspiration behind his seminal 2003 album, Get Rich or Die Tryin').

TheFIX caught up with 50 and Power co-stars Alana "La La" Anthony, Rotimi Akinosho, and executive producer Courtney A. Kemp in Los Angeles to learn the answer to a very pressing question: who would win in a real-deal street fight, Kanan or the hip hop persona 50 Cent?

"Something’s wrong with him. Why would you want to kill your own kids?" joked 50, referring to Kanan's shocking decision to murder his own son in Season 2. "I don’t want to fight anybody like that."

Despite admitting that Kanan has about "30 pounds on him", 50 revealed cautiously, "50 Cent would probably beat Kanan, but [Kanan] would probably shoot him for beating him. You have to be careful, because sometimes you don’t want to win."

Giving some insight into Kanan's dangerous mind, particularly in his journey in Season 4, the platinum-selling rapper explained: "I think [Kanan] would shoot [50 Cent] or hurt him because he really is damaged. It’s genuine, it’s not by accident. It’s not by behaving a certain way, it’s naturally where he regressed to because the things he’s gone through made him like that."

Even in defeat, he continued, "[Kanan] definitely would come back. He’s not the kind of guy who just goes away."

Season 4 picks up with protagonist James "Ghost" St. Patrick awaiting trial for the murder of an FBI special agent, a crime he didn't commit. After years of running New York City's drug ring, James has fought to become a legitimate nightclub owner, but he can't seem to outrun his criminal past. In the new season, we find him literally fighting for his life as loyalties are tested among his inner circle.

Power Season 4 arrives June 26 on Stan.
