Today is National Cat Day in the United States, confirming our theory that Americans have a national day for everything. To celebrate this feline holiday, imgur has announced the Cat Class of 2015, and revealed its breakout cat star of the year.

This back-flipping kitten first attracted our attention back in May when its Good Day Atlanta 'Pet of the Day' segment went viral.

Within seconds of the cameras rolling on the morning show, the kitten somersaulted off the news desk, startling its human co-hosts.

The stunning display of agility resulted in the most-viewed and upvoted cat post of the past 12 months, with 22,922 upvotes and 6,737,403 views.
