Canine Happy Hour is the only Instragram you need

Meet Tula – a four-year-old rescue pup from White Bear Lake in Minnesota.

Between a hectic life involving napping, eating and working as a therapy dog, Tula is the focus of the brilliantly cute Instagram account, Canine Happy Hour.

You'd be forgiven for thinking "oh great, another Instagram for someone's pet". But Tula's is a little more unique: the photos on her account are all taken from Tula's perspective.

Thanks to a GoPro strapped to her chest, followers are treated to intimate dog's-eye-view images of Tula's world as she plays in the mud, plays chase with friends and goes swimming.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Tula's human, 17-year-old Susie Kixmoeller, explained that the idea to hand the camera over to Tula came after she found it hard to take the perfect "unstaged" shot herself.

“I’ve always loved photography, and I’ve always loved dogs,” Kixmoeller explained.

“So when we started taking Tula to the dog park about a year ago, I’d go along and I’d see how interesting the interactions between the dogs are, like how they play together and all that stuff.

“And so I started to try and get pictures of that, on my own camera. But the thing about when they are playing together is that if I get close enough to actually capture it well, they’re going to stop playing, and they’re going to look at me because I’m too close to them.”

And the gambit has paid off.

Aside from the interesting compositions of each shot to the simple candidness of the dogs as they go about their doggy business, it's also fascinating to see how, at canine level, dogs interact with each other.
