Teen hacker gets into Uber, announces data breach on chat software
Rideshare service Uber has confirmed it has fallen victim to a hacker, who announced his presence via the Uber.
The hacker accessed a worker's Slack account and sent a disconcerting message.
"I announce I am a hacker and Uber has suffered a data breach," the message read.

The New York Times said the hacker then listed internal databases it said had been compromised.
Uber Australia has been contacted by 9News.com.au to confirm whether the personal data of any driver or app user had been compromised.
A spokesperson for Uber referred 9News.com.au to a brief tweet sent out by the company's communications department.
"We are currently responding to a cybersecurity incident," the tweet, sent out an hour ago, read.
"We are in touch with law enforcement and will post additional updates here as they become available."

The company is yet to post an update.
The purported hacker has since spoken to the New York Times, identifying themselves as an 18-year-old man.
The hacker gained access to the system by texting an Uber employee pretending to be someone in the company's IT department.
The employee then gave the hacker their password.
The hacker reportedly called for Uber drivers to be paid better and posted an explicit photo on an internal information page.
