Pizza Rat upstaged by mechanical doppelganger

New York city’s hungriest rat is back – sort of.

With more than eight million views, the original Pizza Rat took a big chunk out of the internet, but now there’s a new rat in town. And he’s ready to be king of the concrete jungle.

A mechanical version of the pizza loving rodent, has been built by the creators of YouTube channel PrankvsPrank.

The prop was made from a remote-controlled car, cardboard, a slice of New York’s finest pie and a taxidermy rat.

The pranksters then unleashed their creation on unsuspecting people who predictably jump and scream in fright.

Possibly even funnier is the New Yorkers who’ve seen it all and simply ignore the fake rat.

The new video also sees Pizza Rat escape its underground Subway home and go on a rampage through the Big Apple.
