Bubble wrap’s new design is unpoppable and no fun at all

An element of fun will be lost with receiving deliveries after the original maker of Bubble Wrap created a new version of their signature product which will now be “unpoppable”.

The company Sealed Air Corp will keep the same look but the product will no longer burst, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The original product had pockets of air which would pop and make a noise when pressure is applied onto the sealed area.

The new version has been dubbed iBubble Wrap and is sold in flat plastic sheets that require a custom-made pump to fill the bubbles with air, and the pump is sold separately by Sealed Air Corp for $7249.

The North Carolina based company made the decision to change the product to save space for online retailers in their deliveries.

The original product caused difficulty in shipping due to the large amount of space it took while arriving as pre-inflated rolls.

The newer version reportedly takes up about one 50th of the space before it has been inflated.

Sealed Air Corp said the traditional Bubble Wrap will still be sold as an option.

Bubble Wrap was invented in 1957 and has now been widely manufactured and used.
