Reckless texter's worst nightmare? New app will let customers see SMS messages typed in real time

A new app coming out is set to change text messaging for good.

Beam Messenger is designed to cut down on trolls and ill-advised texting by letting a recipient see the message being typed up letter by letter even before it is sent.

The recipient will also be able to see the typist's edits and changes as they are made.

This new form of messaging is more open and honest than classical messaging - but also with more pitfalls for the inebriated, the angry, or even just a poor typist.

Opportunities for rewriting or checking texts will be limited, in a way that more closely mimics face-to-face conversation.

However, in an era when children have their own phones, tablets and laptops, opportunities to improve their social media and communication skills are likely to be embraced by parents.

Beam Messenger is now available for Android-powered devices and is coming soon to iOS.
