Toshiba unveils the creepy robot that could one day steal your job

Toshiba has created a robot with life-like human expression that may one day enter the workforce.

The robot, who introduces “herself” as ChihiraAico, boasts that she can "achieve real heart-warming communication with human-like facial expression".

The company announced its robot at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, telling Mashable the robot could provide health care for the elderly.

ChihiraAico is part of its “human smart” community program and told the audience she can be sad, irritated, happy and can even cry.

The news comes shortly after the release of Disney’s Big Hero 6 which tells the story of a big friendly robot named Baymax, the first of its kind, made to be a health carer.

But ChihiraAico’s stone cold eyes are a far cry from Baymax’s marshmallow like features.

Toshiba hope that the robot will promote smarter living.
