In anticipation of the game's release, 9News.com.au caught up with legendary Capcom producer Hirabayashi Yoshiaki to talk all about it.

When remaking a classic game, it's important for players to regain the same experience.

Yoshiyaki said although the game was remade, they stuck to the source material and kept its charm.

"While valuing the original game experience, we have modernised the play feel, reconstructed the story, and updated the graphics," he said.

"Even though it's a modern reconstruction, I think you'll be able to get a sense of the game tempo that you felt in the original."

Yoshiyaki said iconic scenes like the forest at the beginning of the game were remade many times to be sure the development team got it right.

"Especially important in production was the sequence from the entrance of the forest at the beginning to the battle at the village assembly hall," he said.

"We had remade it many times to arrive at the current expression. And based on the know-how built up there, we connect it to the production of other stages."

Resident Evil 4 has been confirmed to take advantage of the PlayStation 5's DualSense controller, offering an immersive experience to gamers on the platform.

"All DualSense controller features are supported," Yoshiyaki said.

"We think that it has a great effect in increasing the sense of immersion.

"With haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, you can feel Leon's actions and situations more realistically and you can hear radio voices from the controller's speaker."
