Falcon hunts down robot eagle and knocks it out of the sky

A falcon has demonstrated that mother nature is still the boss by chasing down and destroying a robot eagle that dared to challenge it to a race.

Video filmed in Saudi Arabia and uploaded to LiveLeak yesterday begins with a man launching a giant mechanical robot eagle into the air.

After a rather large head-start, a falcon is released to chase down the impostor.

The bird of prey gives pursuit and quickly catches the machine.

A group of men can be heard cheering and applauding the bird as it knocks the robot out of the sky.

The peregrine falcon, capable of diving speeds of 320km/h, is considered the fastest animal on earth.

In parts of the Middle East, certain breeds of falcons are used for hunting and racing, and can cost several hundred thousand dollars to buy.
