Robin Williams' daughter Zelda has re-emerged on Twitter three weeks after vicious trolls forced her to swear off social media.

Ms Williams, 25, posted a series of messages after the unexpected death of her father but left Twitter after two users sent her a doctored photo they claimed to be the comedy legend's dead body.

"I'm sorry. I should've risen above," Ms Williams wrote on August 13.

"Deleting this from my devices for a good long time, maybe forever."

But today she updated her page for the first time, simply writing "Thank you" and linking to an earlier post on her Tumblr blog.

The post from January 2012 was a quote from Broadway icon Harvey Fierstein, who co-starred with her father in Mrs Doubtfire.

"Never be bullied into silence," the quote read.

"Never allow yourself to be made a victim.

"Accept no-one's definition of your life; define yourself."

Robin Williams died on August 11 at the age of 63.
