Young girl dies after being hit by car on NSW south coast

An 18-month-old girl has died after she was struck by a car at a caravan park on the NSW south coast.

A woman in her 30s was reversing the car at the park on Ocean Street in Kiama just before 3.30 this afternoon when the child was hit.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene and airlifted to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, but she sadly died a few hours later.

An investigation is underway into the child’s death and a report is being prepared for the Coroner.
