Young family woken in early hours by gunfire in seemingly random attack

A sleeping family was woken today when bullets peppered their Adelaide home in an early morning shooting.

Shots were fired at the house on Redgum Drive at Pasadena around 4.45am.

A mother, father and two children were home at the time but no one was injured.

Neighbours told 9NEWS they were shocked by the shooting, as the street is usually quiet and they could not recall problems at the home involved.

Detectives, ballistic experts and crime scene investigators are at the house and police have called for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

They are reportedly investigating the possibility the home was mistakenly targeted.

The police dog squad has also searched the area around the house, including a reserve at the back of the property.

It's possible the shots came from the reserve behind the home.
