A South Australian retiree who won a $613,000 division one lottery prize says he plans to give it all away to loved ones.

The Port Augusta resident held one of seven division one X Lotto winning entries across the country which was drawn on April 4.

The happy winner said he had everything he needed and planned to give away his windfall, but only after he bought himself one new thing.

"I'm giving it all away to my family! I'm going to pay off my children's mortgages and give some to my friends," he said.

"The only thing I might buy myself is a nice new comfortable bed."

The man has started his week on a high, some rare good news amid the coronavirus crisis.

"I don't need it for myself. I've got a nice little house and people to look after me," he said.

The retiree, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his ticket from Terry White Chemists in Port Lincoln.

"I've been playing X Lotto ever since it began," he said.

"A couple of years ago I won division two but finally winning division one is just a beautiful feeling!"
