Would-be thieves point gun at staff inside McDonald’s drive-thru window

Two would-be robbers have been caught on camera attempting to rob a Sydney McDonald’s with a shotgun.

The hooded thieves are seen on CCTV from inside the Prestons restaurant approaching the drive-thru window.

The video is time stamped as taking place at 1.55am.

The pair are seen gesturing inside the store and pointing a firearm straight into the window.

Police said they called out to a female staff member, demanding she open the window.

The suspect holding the gun is seen fiddling with it, appearing to try and cock it. The man then makes a failed attempt to break the glass with the butt of the gun.

The quick-thinking manager saw the men and told staff to lock themselves in an office and call police.

The two men fled the scene empty-handed.

Police scoured the area but did not find the men.

One of the duo was wearing grey tracksuit pants and a black hooded jumper while the other was wearing black pants and a black and white hooded jumper.
