Three men who became stuck on a crane above a Geelong building have been freed by rescue crews.

One of the men suffered an arm injury during the accident, Ambulance Victoria confirmed.

The group became stranded in the cherry picker's bucket about 8.45am today perched above the Barwon Water building on Ryrie Street, however it is unclear exactly how they became stuck.

The stricken picker was on a dangerous angle and Country Fire Authority crews worked carefully to bring the two men to safety down a ladder.

The men are being treated Geelong Hospital and are in a stable condition.
