An injured worker has been rescued at a refinery in Geelong, Victoria.

It is believed the 61-year-old man was hurt in the pipe track at the Corio site just after 12.15pm, Country Fire Authority (CFA) said in a statement.

He was rescued by the CFA about one hour later.

The worker was taken Geelong University hospital in a stable condition with minor head injuries, Ambulance Victoria told 9NEWS.
