Woolworths has backflipped on a decision to limit the monthly discount for Everyday Extra subscribers to in-store shoppers only, after customer backlash.

Earlier this year, Woolworths announced that from July 1, subscribers would only be able to redeem their monthly Everyday Extra discount at a brick-and-mortar Woolworths or Big W stores, rather than online.

However, an Everyday Rewards spokesperson told 9News.com.au that after "carefully listening to customer feedback", the change would be reversed.

"As a result from November 1, we will be reinstating the option for our Everyday Extra subscribers to redeem their 10 per cent monthly discount online, when shopping at Woolworths and BIG W," the spokesperson said.

"We thank our customers for their feedback and hope this change will make it easier for our Everyday Extra subscribers to unlock even more value this Christmas and for the year ahead.

"Everyday Extra subscribers can also redeem their discount on Everyday Rewards 'Member Price' products, to generate even more savings at the checkout."
