A Perth man has died after allegedly being bashed by his son, who is also facing a murder charge over the death of a neighbour who tried to intervene.

The 69-year-old father died in a Perth hospital overnight.

It follows the death of the 68-year-old neighbour on Saturday, after he apparently tried to intervene in a fight between the man and his son.

Witnesses told the ABC that a woman ran to her neighbour's house, in Justicia Close, Woodvale, to ask for help to break up the fight between her husband and son.

Several neighbours rushed to the house, where they found the father injured.

The 68-year-old neighbour then waited for an ambulance outside the home.

The son allegedly attacked the neighbour in the driveway, who died at Joondalup Health Campus shortly thereafter.

Overnight, the father died from serious head injuries at Royal Perth Hospital.

The son is now facing a second count of murder.

He is due to appear in Stirling Garden's Magistrates Court tomorrow.
