Immigration Minister Peter Dutton says refugee women and children will be removed from Nauru as a first priority when a third country resettlement deal is reached.
Mr Dutton says the government is still working on third country options for resettling refugees on Nauru and Manus Island.
"We can be assured the government wants to get particularly women and children out as a first priority from Nauru - we're working on that," he told Sky News on Tuesday.
