Victorian man charged with murder of wife after body found

A 65-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his wife in their home in Traralgon, south-east of Melbourne, last month.

Rosemary Gibson, 62, was found dead and suffering gunshot wounds in the bedroom of her home on Airfield Road just after 8am on April 14.

Her husband Alan Gibson was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital with critical injuries, also inflicted by a firearm, and was placed under police guard.

Today he was charged with one count of murder and appeared before the Morwell Magistrates court.

He was remanded in custody until September.
