Woman 'stabbed to death' in Wollongong

A woman is dead after being allegedly repeatedly stabbed, with a man taken into custody at Wollongong.
The 56-year-old man was stopped in his vehicle this morning at suburban Woonona but drove away from police and hit a nearby guard rail.
He was arrested before officers attended a nearby unit and found a 51-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. She was declared dead at the scene.

The man is being treated in hospital under police guard due to injuries from the crash. He is yet to be charged.
