Woman's body found in NT bushland

A woman's body has been discovered in bushland near a remote Northern Territory town.

The grisly find was made at Wachope, a service town on the Stuart Highway, near Tennant Creek.

Police were alerted to the death about 8am on Thursday and have since established a crime scene around the area.

The woman's body is yet to be identified.

Anyone who may have been in the area on Thursday morning is urged to contact police.
