Woman missing at Gold Coast beach

There are fears for the safety of woman who's believed to have gone missing at a Gold Coast beach.

Police were alerted about 3.20pm on Monday that a swimmer could be missing from Currumbin Beach.

Surf lifesavers found an unclaimed sarong with a pair of thongs on the sand.

Water police and a rescue helicopter are helping them look for the woman.
