Woman killed, man injured in Sydney smash
A woman has died and a man has been rushed to hospital after a car crash in Sydney's northeast.
The pair were travelling in a small hatchback along Mona Vale Road at Terrey Hills when the car left the road and crashed about 4.15am Wednesday, police said.
The woman died at the scene while the man was taken to hospital.
His condition is unknown.
The NSW Police Crash Investigation Unit remain at the scene.
The Transport Management Centre (TMC) said westbound lanes on Mona Vale Road near Forest Way remained blocked following the crash.
The TMC said a contraflow had been set up but that traffic in the vicinity was heavy and advised motorists to avoid the area.
Westbound lanes on Mona Vale Road are expected to be closed for several hours.
