Dashcam captures woman allegedly keying stranger's Audi in Sydney's east

We have seen plenty of dashcam videos of incidents on the road, but Evan Hansimikali managed to capture something without even leaving his driveway.

After four separate incidents of his brand new Audi being scratched in Sydney’s east, Mr Hansimikali mounted an in-car dashcam last month and began recording.

Within a week, he had captured a woman casually walking past his car and keying it.

Unbelievably, the same woman reappeared a week later and did it again.

Mr Hansimikali took the footage to police and, in frustration, turned to social media in an attempt to identify the culprit.

A 51-year-old woman turned herself in at Waverley Police Station yesterday afternoon and was charged with five counts of malicious damage. 

Mr Hansimikali and his family live in Dover Heights - where parking spots are known to be scant and residents are often left to park in their driveways.

He said he couldn't believe that a random stranger would want to do such a thing.

“You don't expect someone to do that to your property - especially someone that you've never seen before in your life” he told A Current Affair.

“You can see in the vision that she has prepared the key.

“She's actually got herself ready to do it.”

The woman, from Vaucluse, was granted conditional bail and will face court on April 12.
