Woman dies after being struck by car in Sydney's inner west

A woman has died after she was struck by a car in Homebush today.

Paramedics were called to Parramatta Road near the intersection of Flemington Road about 7.10pm where they found the 28-year-old woman with a number of severe injuries.

She was unable to be revived, and died at the scene.

The driver of the sedan that struck the woman, a 35-year-old man, is assisting police with their enquiries.

He has been taken to hospital to undergo testing.

Parramatta Road is partially closed in both directions.

Two of three eastbound lanes are open, while westbound motorists are being diverted into Plaza Road.
