Pedestrian dies in hospital after she was hit by a car in Melbourne

A woman has died in hospital after she was hit by a car in Melbourne's north last week.
Police say the 40-year-old woman was walking across Johnstone Street in Jacana when she was hit by a Toyota hatchback at 9.45pm on Friday night.

She suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where she died.

Police attended the scene. Nine
The 58-year-old Greenvale driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police.
An investigation into the crash has been launched.
