Woman charged over fiery crash that killed two passengers

A 22-year-old woman has been charged over a fiery head-on crash that killed her two passengers in New South Wales' Central West last year.

Police say the woman was driving south on Gipps Way, near Condobolin, on November 20 when her Ford sedan collided with a truck that was travelling north.

The truck driver, a 59-year-old man, managed to escape before his vehicle caught fire.

The sedan driver was flown to Westmead Hospital with critical injuries while her passengers, a 34-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man, died at the scene.

In a statement released today, police confirmed the 22-year-old was yesterday charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death, two counts of negligent driving occasioning death and one count of driving a motor vehicle while disqualified.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Condobolin Local Court on March 6.
