Sydney woman charged with assaulting television reporter outside court
A Sydney woman has been charged with assaulting a television reporter outside Bankstown Local Court yesterday.
The woman, who’s reportedly the estranged wife of a man arrested during raids by the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad, was filmed lashing out at media and shoving a camera into Sky News journalist Amy Greenbank.
Footage taken immediately after the incident showed Ms Greenbank suffered a laceration to her face.
Ms Greenbank later took to Twitter to reassure well-wishers, posting a smiling picture of her patched-up eyebrow.
"Eventful day but I'm fine. Thanks for all your well wishes!” she wrote.
NSW Police said a 31-year-old woman arrived at Bankstown Police Station shortly after midday today.
She has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is due to appear at Bankstown Local Court on December 14.
