A Sydney woman faces life in jail for allegedly trying to import 15kg of methamphetamine with a street value of $13 million into Australia disguised in her luggage as tea.
Border Force officers stopped the 40-year-old woman from Bonnyrigg in the city's west on Boxing Day at Sydney Airport.
Officers allegedly discovered 18 vacuum-sealed bags labelled as "tea" but containing "a clear crystalline substance" in her luggage.

The drugs had an estimated street value of more than $13 million and could have been sold in over 150,000 individual street deals the AFP says.
The 40-year-old was charged with importing a commercial quantity of methamphetamine and faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.

She was set to face court today.
AFP Detective Superintendent Morgen Blunden said: "Trafficking drugs in your luggage, either knowingly or unknowingly, is a criminal offence, and if caught, you face losing some of the best years of your life sitting in a prison cell either in Australia or overseas.
