CCTV shows alleged hit and run driver slammed into Sydney mum

The moment a young Sydney mum-of-three was struck by a car in an alleged hit and run in Sydney’s west this week was captured on CCTV.

Mariam Daoud remains in a critical condition in Liverpool Hospital, after being allegedly struck as she crossed a road outside a childcare centre in Bass Hill on Monday afternoon.

The 29-year-old is still fighting for life with serious head injuries and fractures to her pelvis, elbow and leg, police said.

Security camera footage from the scene shows the young mum crossing Chester Hill Road, outside her family home, about 3.15pm before a black Subaru Impreza appears to cross the road and hit her.

Police allege she was dragged along underneath the vehicle, before hitting the back of another car.

Her three young children watched on in shock as the horror allegedly unfolded.

“I was going to cross to road, but mum said no,” Ms Daoud ‘s son, Ali, said.

Police arrested a 26-year-old woman from Earlwood last night.

She was charged with failing to stop and assist and negligent driving.

She was bailed and will face Burwood Court in December.

Ms Daoud’s children remain by her side in hospital.

“When I see her, I'm going to give her a hug, kiss her - never let her cross the road,” Ali said.
