Man charged after 19-year-old shot with bow and arrow in Wollongong

A man has been charged after allegedly shooting a 19-year-old in the chest with a compound bow in Wollongong.

Police were alerted to the alleged attack when the teen showed up at Wollongong Hospital with an arrow wound to his chest yesterday.

A 22-year-old was arrested in the roof of a Coniston house after he fled when officers turned up at a nearby unit, police said.

He was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charge with reckless wounding and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and will appear in Wollongong Local Court later today.
