VIC: $248 million more - due to an increase in the state's share of population growth and increased need for infrastructure investment

QLD: $520 million more - coal royalties have fallen and the state suffers from high natural disaster expenses

WA: $20 million more - because of falls in commodity prices, particularly iron ore

TAS: $57 million less - due to a fall in its relative wage costs

ACT: $55 million more - below average growth in a number of major revenue bases has reduced the state's revenue raising capacity

NT: $182 million less - due to a fall in its relative population growth and reduced infrastructure costs

SA: $245 million more - the state suffered a sharp decline in its share of commonwealth payments for specific purposes
