Wife allegedly wanted husband murdered

An Adelaide woman accused of trying to have her estranged husband murdered has failed in a bid to have her name suppressed to spare causing distress to their three young children.

Doris Ann Brundritt, 44, from suburban Glanville, is charged with two counts of solicit murder in 2010 and 2014.

Brundritt, who was arrested in January and named in media reports, unsuccessfully applied for bail on Tuesday but was granted an interim suppression order in the Adelaide magistrates court.

On Friday, her lawyer Andrew Ey said naming Brundritt would be extremely distressing for the three young children and there already had been "talk" at their school after the initial media reports.

But Magistrate Elizabeth Sheppard revoked the order, agreeing with media representatives that it was not uncommon for people with young children to face serious allegations and to be named.

Brundritt is due to answer the charges on May 16.
