What's in the budget for welfare

WHAT'S IN THE BUDGET FOR WELFARE RECIPIENTS:

* $96 million for 'try, test and learn' fund for those at risk of long-term welfare dependency.

* $5.1 million for early intervention program for most vulnerable.

* Includes three-year trial to help children whose parents have mental health issues or in jail.

* Help youth move out of home with education, housing, jobs, health support.

* Third trial site for cashless debit card.

* Public housing tenants to have rent deducted from welfare payment directly.
